I love how pathology collaborates so closely with clinical, surgical, and imaging colleagues. We’re often behind the scenes, but the testing we oversee guides everyday clinical decision making.

Medicine works best as a team. We all need to work together to provide the best patient outcomes.

There is beauty on the slides. There is a feeling of joy in helping to solve the mysteries of the human condition.

I am particularly interested in refining the pathologic assessment of new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities and closely collaborating with gastroenterologists, surgeons, oncologists and radiation oncologists.

I enjoy Pathology because there is nothing routine about the day to day work. Each day brings the opportunity to see something new and unusual.

I truly believe that if medical students had the same exposure to pathology as I did, then medicine’s best kept secret would become the most sought-after field of practice.

Pathology offered the ability to look at the details and art of medicine; where Cytology slides are much like evaluating the components of a picture.

Pathology offers new challenges and new opportunities to learn from our patients each and every day.

I was thrilled by the opportunity to first observe the physical evidence of disease in the clinic, and then to appreciate the microscopic evidence of pathology in the lab.

Pathology is fascinating and satisfying. Amazing patterns and colors often hide discoverable clues on the way to solve a complex medical puzzle.
